COME TO PEACE
Director, Cinematographer and Editor
COME TO PEACE (17 min) - After a two-year hiatus, Bronx-native and influential underground hip hop artist, Adé Hakim returns to music with an album about self empowerment and coming to terms with life’s ebb and flow of happiness. Named after Hakim's album, "Come to Peace" aims to dismantle our stereotypes about what’s possible with ostensibly very little while removing us from the blinding aggressions typically associated with NYC and grounding us in the poetic illusion of nature's stillness found in the Bronx's shoreline.

My favorite reviews so far:

"It really exudes this positive energy, it’s so sweet and hopeful, and somehow equally encouraging of both meditative contemplation and exuberant spontaneity. Elmo has a gift for showing people living life in a way that makes life look so worth living. Which grows increasingly hard as the world grows increasingly dystopian. Very necessary, never stop. It was also a great reminder to cook up with gratitude and glee and levity––and to stand by a river and see a sunset and touch grass."

"What a wonderful film. I connected with Adé's words about how real control is going with things as they unfold. The part where he quits his job was inspiring! And the scene of the pals recording their parts also shows how easy going and supportive Adé is. I love that the film starts with his prayer and ends with his purpose of service. This was a great piece."
